Session 3 - Dr. Craig Blomberg | Historical Reliability of the Gospels
Did the church suppress other gospels?
What’s actually inside books like the Gospel of Peter, the Gospel of Mary, and the Gospel of Philip?
And should any of them change how we think about Jesus?
In Session 3, Dr. Craig Blomberg explores the writings that were not included in the New Testament. From apocryphal stories about Jesus’ childhood to later gnostic texts, this lesson helps you see what these books contain, why they became popular, and why most of them are of little value for reconstructing the life of Jesus. It also highlights the one possible exception that often gets special attention: the Coptic Gospel of Thomas.
