"Neuroscience and Theology," Neil Messer, University of Winchester SPEAKER BIO: Professor Neil Messer gained his PhD in molecular biology at the University of Cambridge, UK, before studying theology and ethics in Cambridge and at King's College London. He taught theology in Oxford, Birmingham, and the University of Wales, before moving in 2009 to the University of Winchester, where he is now Professor of Theology. His research interests and much of his teaching are focused on the intersections of theology and ethics with the biosciences and health care. His publications include Flourishing: Health, Disease, and Bioethics in Theological Perspective (Eerdmans, 2013), Theological Neuroethics: Christian Ethics Meets the Science of the Human Brain (Bloomsbury, 2017), and Science in Theology: Encounters between Science and the Christian Tradition (Bloomsbury, 2020). He is an ordained minister of the United Reformed Church in the UK.
