The Rev. Matthew Laferty ’11 M.Div., an ecumenical leader who directs the Methodist Ecumenical Office Rome, engaged in a public conversation on “A Methodist at the Vatican: The Work of Ecumenical Ministry at the Holy See."

Sponsored by the YDS Transformational Leadership program, the event features a conversation between Rev. Laferty and Prof. Mark Heim, followed by audience questions.

As Director of the Methodist Ecumenical Office Rome, Rev. Laferty is responsible for the World Methodist Council’s relations with the Catholic Church and Vatican. He also serves as the co-secretary of the Methodist-Roman Catholic International Commission, the official theological dialogue commission between the World Methodist Council and the Holy See. Before his current position, Rev. Laferty served in migrant and multicultural ministry in Moscow and Vienna.
