We explore the doctrine of the Trinity with Dr. Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen, Professor of Systematic Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. The Trinity is examined in the OT, NT, Church Fathers, Aquinas, Barth, Zizioulas, Moltmann, Pannenberg, Rahner, and Jenson. The doctrine is also considered in feminist, Latin American, Asian, and African contexts. Kärkkäinen discusses topics including the Trinity as theology's structural motif, the centrality of the Trinity to salvation history, psychological and social models of the Trinity, communion and relationality within the Godhead, the economic and immanent Trinity, and understanding the Trinity for the life and mission of the church.
