Rev. Munther Isaac | Lutheran Pastor | Last Christian in Bethlehem

The Reverend Munther Isaac is pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hope in Ramallah. He is also a noted Palestinian author and theologian who advocates non-violent “creative resistance” to Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

In December 2023, as Israel bombed Gaza, Rev. Isaac's church in Bethlehem featured a nativity scene depicting a newborn Jesus lying in a pile of broken stones. His sermon became the basis for his 2025 book, Christ in the Rubble: Faith, the Bible, and the Genocide in Gaza.
