Norman Doe talks about the historical development of the Court of Arches from medieval times and beyond the Reformation of the 16th century, in terms of its origins, jurisdiction, officers, processes and contribution to ecclesiastical jurisprudence. Morag Ellis takes up the story from the Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Act 1963 and speak about the work of the Court of Arches today and its place in the judicial system of the modern Church of England.
