The Idea of God with Prof Keith Ward | Caucus Interactions

Caucus: The Discussion Forum of Hindu College, was pleased to host The Revd Canon Professor Keith Ward FBA, Regius Professor of Divinity Emeritus, University of Oxford, for a session on the topic “The Idea of God”.

The Reverend Canon Professor Keith Ward is an English philosopher, theologian, and priest of the Church of England. His research interests include the relation of science and religion, and the study of religions in the modern world. Prof. Ward has written over 50 books on a wide range of issues: on the nature and philosophy of religion, Christianity, the relationship between religion and science, the Bible and its interpretations, comparative and systematic theology, and ethics and religion, among others. Two of his recent books are “My Theology: Personal Idealism” and “Adventures in Belief: How I Discovered the Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything (Possibly)”.

Prof. Ward is a member of the board of governors of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and has contributed significantly to the promotion of inter-faith dialogue. He has been a member of Editorial Boards of: Religious Studies, Journal of Contemporary Religion; Studies in Inter-Religious Dialogue; and World Faiths Encounter. He has also served as the President, World Congress of Faiths. He is a fellow of the British Academy since the year 2000. Prof. Ward is an Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and the University of Cardiff.
