An Interfaith Discussion at the Bode-Museum, Berlin
At the Bode-Museum in Berlin, a single artwork provides a starting point for an
interfaith discussion between members of the three main Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Together, Professor Ben Quash, an Anglican priest and Professor of Christianity and the Arts at King’s College London, Professor Mira Sievers, a Professor of Islamic Beliefs, Philosophy and Ethics at the Humboldt University of Berlin and Gesa Ederberg, a Jewish Rabbi of the New Synagogue, Berlin discuss the figures of Abraham and Isaac from the point of view of their respective traditions.
Artwork under discussion: Unknown artist, so called Great Berlin Pyx, c. 400, Bode-Museum.
Part of the Series "Unlocking Christian Art". Produced in partnership with the Visual Commentary on Scripture, King’s College London and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
