Schiess emphasizes that conspiracy theories often meet emotional needs rather than intellectual ones.

Instead of immediate refutation, she advises a relational approach: asking thoughtful questions, understanding the underlying fears, and offering a better, biblically grounded hope. She suggests that reading scripture together, especially passages from Revelation, can offer true comfort in place of unfounded certainty.

The conversation ultimately underscores how conspiracies—and other rigid beliefs—can stem from a deep need for security, and how Christian hope can provide a more stable foundation.
