"Feser attempts to draw out the dilemma presented to theists regarding whether some actions are obligatory merely because God commands them, or if they are obligatory for reasons independent of God.
Applying a Thomistic understanding to the problem, he draws out a third horn to the false dilemma, that God creates creatures with ends for them to follow, and that he has reasons for creating creatures in such a way: so as to bring about the good of the creatures themselves, for themselves."
