Dr. Beverly Roberts Gaventa is Helen H.P. Manson Professor of New Testament Literature and Exegesis Emerita at Princeton Theological Seminary. In 2020, she received the Burkitt Medal by the British Society for Arts and Humanities, an annual award in biblical studies rarely bestowed on an American scholar. She is a former president of the Society of Biblical Literature, the world's largest professional organization of biblical scholars. She has lectured widely in the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Gaventa is a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and a member of the University Presbyterian Church in Austin. Please see the Palmer website for a list of her many publications.
