When the risen Jesus appeared to his disciples in the Upper Room (John 20:19-29), he still bore the wounds of the cross. Likewise, our lives on the other side of the trauma of COVID will still have wounds. God’s promise of new life in Christ comes through acknowledging our wounds, not erasing them.
