In this lecture, we will focus on the church's need to articulate and defend the truth of God's word in every age. Our focus will be on the history leading to Nicaea that necessitated the Council of Nicea, and the heresies that had arisen in the church that Nicaea was seeking to address. Specific focus will be on the Arian heresy, which the church had to reject on the basis of Scripture, otherwise the truth of Christ and the gospel would have been lost.
This lecture is part of the Fall Lectures of 2025 at TTS. Our Fall Lectures provide students, faculty, alumni, and local churches an opportunity to engage with some of the finest Evangelical thinkers addressing issues in theology and culture that matter most for the church.
