Aristotle never saw a chatbot. Augustine never debugged a weapons algorithm. And yet here we are: Anthropic is hiring virtue ethicists, the Pope is weighing in on algorithmic morality, and institutions two thousand years in the making are writing A.I. policy. This session asks what it looks like when the oldest moral frameworks in human history become the most urgent ones in tech, and whether ancient wisdom is our best shot at keeping artificial intelligence on the right side of human values.
