What happens next? After Jesus left his followers, they were left with a big mission and a lot of questions. In this first session on the book of Acts, we look at how this story isn't just about the apostles, but about the mission of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Spirit—to reach all nations and build the church. We’ll see that even though Jesus is in heaven, he is still very much at work through the Holy Spirit.
In this video, we explore:
• The Mission: Why the gospel had to start in Jerusalem before heading to the "ends of the earth".
• The Ascension: Why Jesus going up to heaven was actually his coronation as King over the universe.
• Restoring the Team: The symbolic reason the disciples had to choose a 12th member (Matthias) to replace Judas and represent the 12 tribes of Israel.
• Pentecost: The moment the Holy Spirit showed up with wind and fire, allowing people from all over the world to hear the message in their own native languages.
• The Early Church: How the first believers lived together, shared their possessions, and devoted themselves to teaching, prayer, and fellowship.
Acts shows us that we are part of the same era as Peter and Paul, empowered by the same Spirit to be witnesses today.
