St. Paul wrote, “All things are possible but not all things are good” to describe the work of all people to chart a course for their lives to find the Way of Jesus in the world. Our current broken political discourse, the double pandemics of COVID-19 and racial injustice are challenging individuals and communities to think deeply about how we have formed our understanding of right and wrong, of justice and injustice, of truth and reconciliation, and how we might need to change to find and follow the Holy Spirit in all things. How do lay and ordained faith leaders teach and preach about current ethical challenges in ways that are rooted in Christian ethics? What are the core ethical values of the Episcopal Church concerning racial justice, politics and voting, education and church regathering in person in light of COVID-19?
Join us in an open conversation with renowned Episcopal ethicist Timothy F. Sedgwick, Ph.D., VTS Professor Emeritus of Christian Ethics hosted by The Rev. Dr. Patricia Lyons, Special Advisor to the VTS Dean for Evangelism.
