What the heck is dispensationalism? Dispensationalism, if you didn’t already know, is a theological system of interpretation that is wildly popular in evangelical churches. The doctrine of Christ’s eminent return, Israel being a prophetic time clock, and even Christian books and films such as Left Behind, are all inspired by dispensational theology.

Since dispensationalism is hermeneutic, it impacts nearly every area of our Christian theology. It particularly affects the way that we view the nation of Israel, the land of Israel, and the nation of Israel's role in the end times.

Dispensationalism is such a broad topic! Fortunately for us, we have an expert coming on today to discuss the tenets of dispensationalism. Dr. Darrell Boch is the Executive Director of Cultural Engagement and Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, He is the author of over 40 books, and was one of the former presidents of the Evangelical Theological Society.
