When we look at ancient Roman emperors who were made into gods, it is easy to differentiate between the historical person and their later deification. The same cannot be said for Jesus. Very early on his followers viewed him as divine. In fact, the earliest sources we have already reflect a "high Christology."

In this clip, Dr. Evans and I discuss the phenomenon of NT writers applying texts that clearly refer to Yahweh to Jesus instead.
