Most have wrestled with the problem of evil and suffering in this world. Perhaps, you’ve questioned God because of evil. Or, maybe your experience of evil has led you to do things you regret. How do we deal with evil? How do we face it? How do we forgive? How do we stop contributing to the evil tide all around us? Dr. Ingrid Faro takes us on a journey into the book of Genesis, the Ancient Near East culture, and her own story of suffering, in order to help us endure (and thrive!) in this life. We talk about what it means to be made in the image of God, the first sin, and how satan pounces on us. She tells stories of abuse, trauma, failure, and homelessness. We spend some time discussing shame, failure, and guilt, along with purpose, calling, and grace. She helps us turn around our ashes into beauty. If you’ve never heard an Old Testament scholar open up the Bible, this is the place to begin! We were so encouraged by this conversation, and we can’t wait for you to hear it. Dr. Faro’s new book will be coming out later this year; it’s called “Demystifying Evil: A Biblical and Personal Exploration.”
