In this series, we interview a variety of scholars, theologians, and faith leaders to discuss their own journey and how they have come to hold the theological, social, and political views that they now embrace.

In each interview, we ask the guest the following 5 questions

1. What core convictions or guiding principles have most shaped your thinking over time?
2. What experiences, texts, or influences initially led you to the views you held?
3. Was there a moment—or a series of moments—when you began to question, refine, or deepen those views? What prompted that shift?
4. How would you describe where you’ve landed now—have your views changed, become more nuanced, or more firmly rooted? Why?
5. For Christians who feel uncertain, cautious, or even afraid to re-examine their views, what would you say to them?

The Faithful Resistance Community Network is a growing coalition of scholars, theologians, pastors, and faith leaders committed to calling the Church back to the Gospel of the kingdom of God. United by the conviction that allegiance to Jesus demands both truth-telling and courageous public witness, we seek to resist forms of authoritarian power that distort the Gospel, foster fear and division, and diminish the dignity and value of vulnerable persons. In a moment marked by political polarization, fear, and capitulation, we believe the Church is called not to silence or compromise, but to faithful resistance shaped by the way of Jesus—marked by justice, truth, mercy, and sacrificial love.
