In this year's Kathleen Hall Memorial Lecture, Sam Wells, Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields, blends theology, theatre, and ethics. He explores how improvisation can deepen our faith, challenge our assumptions, and open us to new possibilities. Drawing on drama games, storytelling, and biblical encounters, he introduces the concept of "overaccepting"a creative, faithful response to life's unexpected turns. With warmth and insight, Wells invites us to embrace risk, rediscover discarded narratives, and speak public truth with renewed confidence. This Kathleen Hall Memorial lecture, "Improvising the Realm of God", is the third in a series exploring faith through drama in a wide theological and theatrical context. It was given by the Revd Dr Sam Wells, at St Andrew's Church, Waterloo on 20th May 2025.
