William T. Cavanaugh is a professor of Catholic studies at DePaul University and director of the Center for World Catholicism and Intercultural Theology. He received his B.A. in theology from the University of Notre Dame in 1984, and an M.A. from Cambridge University in 1987. He later attended Duke University, where he received a Ph.D. in religion in 1996. His areas of specialization are in political theology, economic ethics, and ecclesiology.
