An increasing number of Catholic young people are sharing with their parents and faith communities about their journey with same-sex sexuality and faith. However, they often face challenges in finding support. The broader culture may struggle to understand their commitment to Catholicism, while their local faith communities may find it difficult to fully grasp their experiences with sexual orientation.
In this webinar, Julia Sadusky, licensed clinical psychologist, Catholic author and speaker, will provide invaluable insights for youth workers, teachers, parents, and pastoral leaders on how to approach these sensitive conversations with compassion, authenticity, and fidelity to the Church’s teachings. Participants will explore practical strategies for creating spaces where youth feel safe to share their experiences, as well as learn how to foster an environment of accompaniment that honors the dignity of each person while remaining rooted in faith.
