YouTube description

Professor Ben Quash is non-residentiary Canon Theologian of Bradford Cathedral, as well as Professor of Christianity and the Arts at King’s College London—a post he has occupied since 2007.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week, he presents three talks as part of 'This is my Body, Given for You'

Coming live to Bradford Cathedral via video link, Prof Quash will follow the medieval Christian tradition of reflecting on different parts of Jesus’s body in turn, as a devotional exercise that dates back to medieval times.

"It was this tradition that Buxtehude set to music in what may have been the first ever Protestant oratorio, the Membra Jesu Nostri. And it was the meditation on the last of these body parts - his face - which found its way into our Holy Week worship in the form of the hymn O Sacred Head Sore Wounded.

Our 21st-century journey with Jesus’s body will use a series of works of art by artists both ancient and modern, to aid our meditations."

The daily themes are as follows:
Part 1- On the Feet and the Knees
Part 2 - On the Hands and the Side
Part 3- On the Breast and the Face
