No other twentieth-century figure has been as instrumental in developing the study of World Christianity as Andrew Walls. As founder of the "Journal of Religion in Africa" in 1967, "Studies in World Christianity" in 1995, and the Centre for the Study of World Christianity in 1982, Walls has had a unique influence in the creation of this area of academic research.
