In this episode, Romel Regalado Bagares (Philippines) draws attention to the impacts of some of the Trump administration's early ideologically-motivated actions on societies elsewhere in the world. Romel is a lawyer with experience in such diverse areas as renewable energy, microfinance, free expression, data privacy, human rights, and public interest law. He is a professorial lecturer at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and the Philippine Judicial Academy of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Dr Elaine Storkey (UK) is a writer and scholar widely known for her broadcasting and media appearances, as well as for being Executive Director of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity from 1991 to 1999 and President of Tearfund from 1997 to 2013. She has expertise at the intersection of theology, philosophy and social science. Here she responds to Romel's opening talk with comments on the dynamics of campaigns and ideologies around gender in recent decades.
