Unlike other translations, the NIV is always being updated. From the very beginning, the NIV was to be a Bible in current English, and since English is changing so quickly, we have to keep up with it, and scholarship. So the CBT (Committee on Bible Translation) meets every summer, and about every ten years or so our work surfaces in a new addition.

We do not know when the next update will come out. This is a Zondervan issue. I would not expect one for a while.
