The Dickson Poon School of Law's YTL Centre for Politics, Philosophy & Law held this panel discussion as part of its Law & Justice Forum, discussing 'The Future of Europe', involving some of the leading thinkers concerned with the prospects confronting Europe post-Brexit. The panel included: John Finnis Emeritus professor at Oxford since 2010. Prof Finnis teaches courses occasionally in jurisprudence, in the Social, Political and Legal Theory of Thomas Aquinas and in the Social, Political and Legal Theory of Shakespeare. Professor of Law & Legal Philosophy from 1989 to 2010, and a law tutor at University College from 1966 to 2010. Known for his work in moral, political and legal theory, as well as constitutional law, Prof Finnis joined the Notre Dame Law School faculty in 1995. Noelle Lenoir Prof Lenoir is President of HEC Europe Institute, a place for training, dialogue and collaborative research toward the analysis of the socio-economic, political and business issues of Europe in the 21st century. In 1984, she joined the Council of State ("Conseil d'Etat") as a litigation Magistrate. In 1988, she was appointed Chief of Staff of the French Minister of Justice. In 1990, she became Special Adviser to the Prime Minister for legislation on bioethics. Prof Lenoir is also President of the "Cercle des Europens", a think-tank she created in 2004 to promote exchanges and discussions on current European topics. Andrew Moravcsik Director of the European Union Program at Princeton University. He has authored over 125 scholarly publications, including four books, on European integration, international relations theory, qualitative/historical methods, human rights, international law and organization, and other topics. Paulina Neuding A Swedish journalist with the Swedish newspapers Svenska Dagbladet, Gteborgs-Posten and co-founder of the Freedom Rights Project. She writes mostly on issues related to migration, integration and human rights. Sir Larry Alan Siedentop A British political philosopher with a special interest in 19th-century French liberalism. He is the author of 'Democracy in Europe'. He is a former Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford, but has spent most of his academic career as a Fellow of Keble College, Oxford, as a Faculty Lecturer in Political Thought. The event was held on the 16th of February, 2017 at King's College London.
