Day 2 of our 2025 Fall Faculty Lectures with Dr. James Eglinton examines how the archetype/ectype distinction was creatively retrieved by Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck, and how their Neo-Calvinist legacy continues into the present. Building on their work, Dr. Eglinton explores contemporary uses of the distinction in the writings of Ximian Xu on Artificial Intelligence and Nathaniel Gray Sutanto on theistic logic and cultural diversity, and will show how this historic Reformed framework remains both theologically fruitful and adaptable to new questions in the 21st century.
