Hosted by the Centre for Religion in Society as part of International Women’s Day 2025 events.
The Centre for Religion in Society (CRiS) at York St John University provides a forum where scholars and practitioners can come together to examine the role of religion in the cultural, social and political life of society.
Dr Karen O’Donnell is the Academic Dean at Westcott House where she lectures in liturgical theology and trauma theology. Her recent publications include Survival: Radical Spiritual Practices for Trauma Survivors (SCM Press, 2024) and The Dark Womb: Re-Conceiving Theology through Reproductive Loss (SCM Press, 2022). Her talk critiques the image of the ideal Christian woman as slender, serene, and fertile and offers a body-loving alternative.
