Revd Dr Helen Paynter PhD- Tutor in Biblical Studies and Director of Theological Education, and Director of the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, Bristol Baptist College.

Helen Paynter is a Baptist minister who now serves as tutor in biblical studies at the Bristol Baptist College, which has been training women and men for ministry for many years. She is a specialist in the Old Testament, and is particularly interested in biblical violence and the weaponisation of Scripture. She is the founding director of the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence. She lives in Bristol with her husband Stephen, and they have three adult daughters.
