When is a passive not a passive? Why you need to learn Greek for the Rest of Us so you will know what a deponent verb is and not preach "I am not ashamed" (Rom 1:16) is passive. By the way, there still is an ongoing discussion in scholarly circles as to whether or not the word deponent is the right word or whether this involves a new understanding of the middle voice. Either way, you have verbs that are middle or passive in form but active in meaning.
