This is the Session 2 recording from the Confessing the Faith 2025 Conference, hosted by Free Grace Baptist Church (www.freegrace.ca). Learn more and access resources at www.confessingthefaith.ca and www.confessingthefaith.ca/resources.

Confessing the Faith exists to equip and strengthen churches and believers by promoting the confession of the faith once delivered to the saints, focusing on the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1677/89). Our goal is to foster deeper understanding of God, promote doctrinal clarity, and encourage joyful worship rooted in the historic Christian faith.

🎤 Speaker: Dr. James Dolezal
Dr. James Dolezal is professor of theology at Cairn University and visiting professor at International Reformed Baptist Seminary. He is the author of God Without Parts and All That Is in God and has contributed to volumes like Divine Impassibility and Classical Theism.

In this session, Dr. Dolezal unpacks the doctrine of divine simplicity, explaining how God’s oneness, unity, and independence guard us from false views of God as a composite or changeable being. He traces this doctrine through Scripture and historic confessions, showing why it’s foundational to understanding the God of the Bible.
