Over the course its long history (the first SaintAugustine Lecture was given in 1959), the Saint Augustine Lecture has become a signature Villanova event and a prestigious forum for airing the thinking of some of the best and most influential interpreters of Augustine and his legacy.Prof. Oliver O'Donovana renown moral theologian will be offering a close reading of Augustine's treatment of the great psalm (Ps. 118)a psalm great both in terms of its length and its theological complexity. Prof. MichaelCameron of Portland University, whose work on Augustine's Psalms commentary has deeply influenced Prof. O'Donovan's perspective, has been invited to offer a response.
