Joel Beeke (1952) is a prominent American Reformed theologian, pastor, and prolific author known for his expertise in Puritan theology and experiential Christianity.
Beeke's work emphasizes experiential preaching, which focuses on how biblical doctrines should be felt and lived out in a believer's heart and life. He is a leading scholar on the Puritans, frequently lecturing worldwide on subjects like assurance of faith, family worship, and Reformed systematic theology.
He serves as the Chancellor and Professor of Homiletics and Systematic Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, having transitioned from the role of president in 2023. He has served as a pastor of the Heritage Reformed Congregation in Grand Rapids since 1986.
Beeke is the board chairman of Reformation Heritage Books, president of Inheritance Publishers, and editor of the Puritan Reformed Journal.
