Munther Isaac is a Palestinian pastor, theologian, and author. He is presently pastor of Lutheran Church in Ramallah. Munther was pastor at Bethlehem’s Christmas Lutheran Church on October 7, 2023, when his sermon on Christmas that year, with the church’s manger scene, “Christ Under the Rubble,” went viral during the beginning of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. He is one of the leading voices for Palestinian Christians globally. Munther is Director of the Bethlehem Institute for Peace & Justice at Bethlehem University, Director of Christ at the Checkpoint conferences, and a leader of Kairos Palestine. His most recent book is Christ in the Rubble. Faith, the Bible, & the Genocide in Gaza.” He is married to Rudaina, an architect; they have two boys, Karam and Zaid.
