What is God like and can I trust Him? Who am I? What does God think about me? Am I wanted and loved? These are questions that we answer not by looking at the world or at ourselves, but at Jesus.

The passage on the transfiguration of Jesus invites us to look at and listen to Jesus. God says, "This is my beloved son, listen to him." And in Jesus, he says to us, "You are my beloved child.” We see who God is and who God says we are; God is love and we are loved.
