Flags. Immigration. Patriotism. These and related concerns around nationhood and national identity have dominated headlines in recent times, on both sides of the Atlantic, and beyond. Alongside such concerns, a movement more typically associated with America has now gained prominence in Britain—that of ‘Christian Nationalism’. This new webinar in London School of Theology’s ‘Faith Seeking Understanding’ series will examine how nations are defined in the Bible, and how theological understanding of them has developed through church history. How should we weigh allegiance to country with allegiance to Christ? Are some nations more blessed than others? Is it right to claim that Britain is a ‘Christian country’, or, if not, that it should become a Christian country again? These and other questions will be addressed in a session that promises to be rich, informative, and stimulating
